**The Yoddha Race is India's multi-city obstacle fitness race** — a timed, chip-tracked test of strength, endurance, and grit. The 2026–27 season runs through six cities and builds to one finale. For Hyderabad, the date to circle is **5 December 2026**.

Fisique Fitness in Kokapet is an Official Training Partner of the race, so we get asked the basics constantly. Here are the straight answers.

## The format

Yoddha is a fitness race, not a fun run. Your race is chip-timed, and the headline goal for most participants is the **Yoddha Medal — awarded to finishers who complete the course within 90 minutes**. Cross inside the cutoff and the medal is yours; the clock is the opponent.

One detail that says a lot about the race's character: in mixed doubles competition, **weights, distances, and reps are identical for male and female participants**. Everyone faces the same course.

## The 2026–27 circuit

- **Mumbai** — 21–22 November 2026
- **Hyderabad — 5 December 2026**
- **Bengaluru** — 19–20 December 2026
- **Ahmedabad** — 9 January 2027
- **Chandigarh** — 30 January 2027
- **Delhi** — 13–14 February 2027

Six regional races, one epic finale. Slots, categories, and venue details are on the official site: [theyoddharace.com](https://theyoddharace.com/).

## Who is it for?

Honestly: anyone willing to train for it. The field at obstacle fitness races spans first-timers chasing the medal cutoff, regular gym-goers testing themselves outside the weight room, and competitive athletes racing the clock. What it is *not* for is people who plan to show up cold — 90 minutes of sustained output with strength elements is a real physical event, and it rewards preparation visibly.

## How hard is the 90-minute medal?

It depends entirely on your preparation. For someone who trains consistently for 8+ weeks with race-specific work — strength under fatigue, an aerobic engine, grip, pacing — it is an achievable, motivating target. For someone running on gym-membership fitness alone, it is genuinely hard. The difference between those two people is not talent; it is specificity. We wrote a full [8-week Yoddha training plan](https://fisique.fitness/blog/how-to-train-for-the-yoddha-race) explaining exactly that.

## How to prepare (the short version)

- **Build an engine** — you cannot medal on strength alone; [you cannot run your way through it either](https://fisique.fitness/blog/yoddha-race-strength-vs-running)
- **Train carries, crawls, and grip** — the movements gyms skip are the movements race day is made of
- **Simulate** — timed, race-format circuits teach pacing better than any single workout
- **Recover deliberately** — more training only works with more recovery
